ABOUT THE ROLE:
Family Carers Ireland wish to make the following appointment;
ROLE: Virtual Carer Supports Manager
REPORTING TO: National Lead for Partnerships & Innovation
LOCATION: This role will initially be based from the successful
candidate?s home location as per Covid-**Apply on the website**
guidelines. Once it is allowable, the successful candidate may align
themselves with one of Family Carers Ireland?s locations in this
area.
CONTRACT DURATION: Fixed term contract up to December **Apply on the
website**st **Apply on the website**.
HOURS PER WEEK: **Apply on the website** per week. The normal working
hours are 9 am to 5.**Apply on the website** pm (Monday to Thursday)
and 9 am to 5 pm (Friday). However, given the nature of the role,
flexibility will be required to provide support at evening time if
necessary.
The Virtual Carer Supports Manager (CSM) will enhance the wellbeing of
Family Carers through and beyond their care journey by delivering high
quality, appropriate, targeted online supports for family carers.
Wellbeing is defined with reference to the 7 areas of carer wellbeing
outlined in the Carers Outcome Star?. In addition to engaging with
Family Carers to deliver on-line support groups and hosting webinars,
the role will also include planning and facilitating national
quarterly Carer forums (virtually, due to Covid-**Apply on the
website**) and developing a line-up of activities for National Carers
Week (held on-line in **Apply on the website** due to Covid-**Apply on
the website**) as well as managing and moderating the new Carers
on-line forum and management of the Calendar of activities and events.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Virtual Carer Supports Manager will be responsible for the
following tasks:
ON-LINE SUPPORT GROUPS AND WEBINARS
* To support Carer Support Managers (CSMs) and other Carer Supports
and Innovation staff to develop and implement guidelines and
principles around facilitating on-line Support Groups. These
guidelines will include how to support Carers to use technology, set
ground rules, facilitation techniques, online safety, topics for
discussion etc.
* To co-facilitate online support group meetings with CSMs.
* To evaluate the online support groups.
* To develop and host a series of webinars relevant to family carers
about FCI carer supports and services and information relevant to the
seven (7) areas of carer wellbeing.
NATIONAL CARER?S WEEK
* To lead on the provision of at least four (4) online activities and
events each day of National Carers week for Family Carers throughout
the country. Examples of activities include:
* Information sessions relevant to Carer issues, Carer wellbeing,
FCI services and supports.
* Fun events e.g. on-line bingo
* Education sessions
* Wellbeing sessions
* Other ideas gathered as obtained from CSMs and Family Carers.
* To evaluate the week.
ON-LINE FORUM
* To engage with the forum working group to implement a
user-friendly, Carer centred on-line forum for Family Carers.
* To act as the key moderator ensuring that the forum is working in
line with procedures developed by the organisation.
* To ensure the forum is a relevant and a safe place for Family
Carers to meet and interact on-line.
* To evaluate the forum.
QUARTERLY CARER ENGAGEMENT FORA
* To work with staff across the organisation to develop and host
thematic online carer engagement for a for Family Carers to ensure
that their voice is heard regarding key issues relevant to their
caring role.
* To liaise with the Communications and Policy Team to ensure the
agenda reflects the needs and interests of Family Carers.
* To evaluate the fora.
CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS
* To ensure that all relevant activities are uploaded onto the
Calendar of Events in real time so that information is visible to
Carers at the earliest opportunity. This includes uploading the
information from CSMs across the country
REPORTING
* Adhere to all internal procedures in spending and controlling the
Organisation?s funds.
* Maintain records of contacts with Family Carers, engagements with
staff and other records required by the organisation as set out in
organisational policies, procedures and guidelines. This includes
proficient use of the CRM.
* Provide progress reports as required.
* Engage in activities to monitor / evaluate the on-line services.
* Follow all organisation policies and procedures with respect to
reporting and engaging in the investigation of any Safeguarding
issues, Children First compliance requirements or complaints./li>
TEAMWORK
* Contribute to the development and functioning of the person-centred
network of CSMs by engaging in the team-based development process and
leading on one team-based projects.
* Work with other teams from across the organisation in order to
effectively realise objectives.
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
* Actively participate in supervision and performance review as
required;
* Carry out your position and responsibilities in line with our
organisation?s values, policies, procedures and processes, working
in a professional and efficient manner;
* Ask questions to clarify understanding of job expectations,
communications, projects and other workplace initiatives;
* Use effective time management to achieve the key performance
indicators (KPIs) of the role;
* Practice self-care and open communication to manage emotional
family carer conversations.
HEALTH SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL
* Ensure the Organisation?s Health and Safety policy and procedures
are adhered to and carry out your roles and responsibilities as

POLICIES & PROCEDURES
* Adhere to the Organisation?s policies and procedures and agreed
quality systems.
OTHER DUTIES
* Undertake other duties as may be required and assigned by the
Organisation from time to time.
ROLE CRITERIA:
The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications,
skills and experience:
* QQI Level 7 qualification or higher is desirable in the area of
Social Care / Community Development/ Psychology/Train the Trainer /
Counselling / Education / Facilitation.
* Experience and confidence using virtual technologies such as 3CX,
Zoom, Microsoft Teams and videoconferencing platforms to deliver
training, education.
* Previous experience hosting and facilitating online and in-person
groups and events to members of the public or specific groups.
* Experience working with and facilitating small and large groups in
person, including managing expectations and delivering on outcomes.
* Experience delivering training and conducting workshops ?
evidence of ability to share information.
* Knowledge of challenges facing Family Carers.
* Knowledge of services and supports offered formally and informally
within the community services sector.
* Ability to prioritise tasks and work within a dynamic environment.
* Excellent IT skills- mainly MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint,
CRM, Finance systems etc.
* Proven networking skills.
* Strong people management skills.
* Strong sense of creativity.
* Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
* Excellent communication skills, and the ability to establish
rapport with a diverse range of people.
* Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, make clear and quick
decisions and work with clients in distress.
* Effective time management.
* Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a
team.
* Flexibility in attitude and approach to the job.
* Reflective approach to their work.
* A strong work ethic.
* Willingness to do some evening work when required.
* Full drivers licence with access to own vehicle.
